Code Blocks is an excellent programming option for C. It consists of an open source, multiplatform integrated development environment that supports using multiple compilers, among which are: GCC (MingW / GNU GCC), MSVC, Digital Mars, Borland C 5.5 and Open Watcom. The default compiler that this Code Blocks package comes with is MinGW. Due to lack of active developers by the Code::Blocks team there is currently no native Code::Blocks version available for the macOS platform which is newer than v13.12 (Published 2013). After successfully installing Code::Blocks, go to File menu - Select New and create an Empty file. Now write your C program in this empty file and save the file with a ‘.cpp’ extension.
